It's Sunday at the hospital, which means things are quiet. Dear Dr. Carner stopped by twice today to check on the children. This man is a devoted man, full of compassion. When we told him he works too hard, he said, "it is only for these few weeks; it is only because I must give my total care to the children." We are so thankful for the devoted medical staff here.
Anna was not in a good mood today. I don't know if it is the steriods, or if she has just had enough of being confined to one room (haven't we all?!), or if she's just having a day, but goodness gracious, she was in a snit most of the day. She also ran a slight fever, so maybe she just was not feeling well. Thankfully, the fever was gone this evening. Let's pray it doesn't return - we really, really want to be released tomorrow.
We attended the hospital mass, most of which we did not understand, but we did recognize "Holy, Holy, Holy" and "Nearer My God to Thee." We also recognized the Lord's Prayer and the Apostles' Creed. It doesn't really matter what we could understand. In my heart, it was important to honor the Lord with our presence. It's not about us. It's about Him. Of course we can worship anywhere at all. Sometimes, though, just the act of gathering with others or putting the importance of being in a house of worship above our own comfort level reveals something in our hearts.
Late this afternoon, a troupe of clowns came to the hallway. That cheered Anna right up! She enoyed the bubbles and balloons.
Monday will be a new day! Isn't it grand that a new day always dawns?

ReplyDeleteToday is a new day! Of course, in your time zone, it's the end of a new day! I am so proud of all three of you! The Lord has given you the gift of steadfastness. I pray for the evening hours - that the sweetness of the Lord will be full and strong. I pray the Lord would give you words of comfort and encouragement. You are all so special. Grace to you all. Yesterday was a good day at church. I cried so much, but it wasn't any special word or thing. It was the sweetness of the Lord and just how much He loves us. Our lesson was on John 14:15-31. I never made it past the first verse, but it was good for me. The biggest thing for me was Jesus telling His disciples He loved them so much, He would never leave them. It might look like it for a season He was gone, but He would soon be living in them - forever - forever - forever. Sweet dreams tonight! We will continue to pray for each one of you. I am so happy and proud for Anna. Anna you are special!!! Our God is good!
