"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the power and the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever, Amen." Ephesians 3:20

Hospital Day 12 -- Anna is back!

The old Anna was completely and fully back today!  She asked to get dressed, and she did not mean more pajamas. She asked for jeans, lipstick, a necklace and a hairbow. I definitely complied!

She grinned and grimaced as only Anna can do.

She babbled incessantly.  She gave the nurses the what-for about their continuing need to stick her.  She even happily let Papa do many things for her today, giving me a little break.

I took a walk outside, and the sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and my fears were relieved.  Just one week ago, I wanted to run, but today, I was so glad we did not.  Now, I can't wait to get to March 25th to see what Activation Day brings!

Anna's IV stared leaking today, and I was hoping they would set her free, but they wanted to start a new one.  After yesterday's blood draw, I figured we had nothing to lose by sweetly requesting that they allow the Pediatrics Department to do the new one.  The nurses were kind about it as I explained that they always have difficulty for even a simple blood test, plus, when Anna came out of surgery, it was clear that there had been several attempts to get lines started.  We went to Pediatrics, and the nurse there got it in on the first try.  As they say here in Italy, "BRAVO!"

My heart is overflowing with thankfulness for all gifts and mercies the Lord has shown us this week.  He has answered so many prayers, I could not possibly count them all.  As you go into your time of worship tomorrow, whether that is in a stately cathedral, a modern church building, or the quiet and privacy of your own back porch, steaming cup of coffee in hand, would you please take a moment to bow your heart with an offering of thanks to the LORD who has seen us and heard our prayers?

Love,
Amy
