"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the power and the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever, Amen." Ephesians 3:20

Lucy Loves Elmo

I don't know why all two year olds love Elmo.  It must be his voice...his red fur....something!  At this age, Elmo was the recipient of Amelia's first English "I love you."  Lucy isn't nearly so selective, but she does love Elmo.  Sesame Street Live came to town recently, so I took the day off work to have a special day with Lucy.  She sang. She danced.  She enjoyed.  But Lucy is Lucy, and when 11:45 rolled around, she was ready for nap-time, Elmo or no.

HAPPY EASTER!
We love to celebrate a risen Savior.  Hallelujah!

My girls had a lovely day.  We went to church and then had a picnic with cousins.  After they left, Lucy napped, and we ended the day with playtime at the park and a trip to the yogurt shop (yes, it was open on Easter).  Amelia and Lucy were beautiful in their Easter finery (direct quote: "Mom, you always like us to be fashionable for Easter, right?").  I know the Lord couldn't care less about Easter dresses and matching purses...in fact, He may prefer we spend our funds on the poor and downtrodden....still, there is something in me that feels like it is an act of worship to look our best on Easter.  God gave His best.  praying we can all remember the lavishness of the Father's love, the enormity of the Savior's sacrifice, and the joy of our salvation during this special season.

One who is destined for stardom on the basketball court.

More Springtime Fun

Our church always has a picnic on Palm Sunday, where families can play at the park, eat lunch on a blanket, and hunt Easter eggs. This was Lucy's first introduction to the Easter egg hunt. We discovered something about our Lucy: she adheres to the "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" philosophy. When she discovered that one of her eggs had a Rice Krispy treat in it, she was done with hunting for any more eggs. She promptly opened her snack and enjoyed it while everyone else hunted eggs. Amelia, on the other hand, would not stop even when her basket was overflowing. She asked me if I could carry her "extras" that would not fit in her basket. When I questioned whether she had enough, she said, "but Mom, there are still eggs out there!"

Sisters in Springtime

I have so much catch-up posting to do! It's springtime here in Texas, and we are enjoying finally having nice enough weather to spend time outdoors.
