Happy Birthday, Grandmama! Two years ago, on Grandmama's birthday, we received our first "updated" photos from China. The photos made me laugh and cry at the same time. I laughed because The Chunster was just so precious. The foster mom's description said she was stubborn, and liked boy toys and was a "lovely naughty girl." After I laughed, I cried. I cried for all the moments I had missed so far and for all my sweet girl would endure in the coming months. Two years later, I still easily laugh and cry over my dear girl. Enjoy the 2-year "update" update!

Amelia had "beach day" at school on Friday!

Cousins

Amelia just returned from a week at Papa & Grandmama's house, where she got to spend quality time with cousins Olivia, Kyndal, and Candice. She loves her cousins, and she loves to make me sing "He's got Kyndal, Candice, Olivia & Amelia in His Hands, He's got Kyndal, Candice, Olivia & Amelia in His Hands, He's got Kyndal, Candice, Olivia & Amelia in His Hands, He's got the whole world in His Hands."

The Chunster is on the mend...

Amelia AiChun had "the works" yesterday - tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, a good ear cleaning, and sinus wash. She was not happy about putting on the hospital gown and laying on the bed, but once they gave her some "happy juice" all was well. She came through the surgery great, and doing very well at home. She is eating well, drinking, and even laughing and playing. Hopefully, this will mean less illness for her this winter.

A Big Girl Bed!

Amelia announced recently that she thought she needed a big girl bed since she is big now. She says at least 42 times a day that she is "vewwy, vewwy BIG." We did a bed-switch, and Amelia is now the proud owner of her very first big bed. We took down the rails, and she has stayed right in the middle with no problem. (Yes, I got up every hour that first night to make sure she didn't fall out of bed!) My dad put the little bed up in our attic for storage. Amelia asked why were keeping it, and my mom told her "Well, maybe someday you will have little sister." Amelia thought about it and said she would like that. That's funny, because just a few weeks ago, when I asked her if she thought she needed a brother or sister, she said "No, Mom, you have enough kids with just me." HAHA. I think I agree!!!
