"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the power and the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever, Amen." Ephesians 3:20

A girl and her cat

We have a new housemate. His name is Isaac. He had been hanging out around our house, and we had been trying to dodge him as we came indoors each day. One day, he beat us, and made it all the way in. Amelia announced, "Oh, that's my cat. His name is Isaac, and I'm his mom." And so Isaac stayed. To be clear, Isaac's "mom" has no participation in most of his care, but she continually reminds me that she is his mom. Enjoy the photos.

Shopping with The Chunster

My aunt sent Amelia a Bath & Body Works gift card for her birthday. I took her out Monday night to spend it. She walked right in and asked the lady for help finding just the right thing. She smelled all the bubble baths, tried the lotions, and examined the lipsticks. In the end, she settled on one sparkly lip gloss and a bottle of peppermint bubble bath. It's funny - one of the first things I said about Amelia, on our third day together, was that she is a good shopper. True then, true now! I guess I should be saving my funds for the teenage years.

Happy Harvest (or, Happy Halloween, whichever you prefer)

We are believers, but we still have fun with all the Harvest (Halloween) activities. Amelia bought a mermaid outfit that she intended to wear for the occasion, but she spied a full-body panda suit on the clearance rack at TJ Maxx and decided no other costume would do...after all, "I love pandas! I have a big panda collection. I am a panda girl!" And since the child is never denied a thing, Grandmama bought the panda suit. The Chunster was torn between costumes, until she came on the solution - wear the mermaid costume (a wee thin) for daytime, and the panda suit for nighttime trick or treating (when it is cooler out). And so, she was both! A Mermaid Panda Girl!
