Happy Birthday, Grandmama!

Happy Birthday, Grandmama! Two years ago, on Grandmama's birthday, we received our first "updated" photos from China. The photos made me laugh and cry at the same time. I laughed because The Chunster was just so precious. The foster mom's description said she was stubborn, and liked boy toys and was a "lovely naughty girl." After I laughed, I cried. I cried for all the moments I had missed so far and for all my sweet girl would endure in the coming months. Two years later, I still easily laugh and cry over my dear girl. Enjoy the 2-year "update" update!

Amelia AiChun - Age 8

Amelia was adopted at age 2 from The People's Republic of China. She is in 2nd grade this year. She loves to do ballet, take care of the little girls, and write on anything and everything. She is my "little old lady" - she frets and fusses and fears. Amelia was born with a heart defect that God healed and with vision challenges that she is overcoming. Amelia is the child who made me a mother, the one who opened my eyes and my heart to children in need around the world. Love that Chunster!

Anna XiaoChun - Age 5

Anna Joy XiaoChun was adopted from Anyang, Henan, China. She joined our family just a few weeks shy of her 5th birthday. She is deaf and is learning to sign. She loves to play outside - she would swing all day long if we would let her! She is spunky and exuberant and always on the go. We can't wait to see what special things God has in store for her. He broke the mold when He made Anna. She's the go-go girl, and we love her!

February 21, 2012 - Log in date

April 24, 2012 - Letter of Acceptance received

April 30, 2012 - I-800 submitted

May 30, 2012 - I-800 approved

June 8, 2012 - NVC letter cabled

June 12, 2012 - Article 5 drop-off

June 26, 2012 - Article 5 pick-up

July 6, 2012 - Travel Approval - yahoo!

July 30, 2012 - Forever Family Day

August 10, 2012 - Welcome home, Anna!

Lucy Yu-An, Age 3

Lucy was born in Taitung, Taiwan, and was adopted at age 2. Her favorite things are naps, books, rocking with her Mama. She loves babies and animals. She has a cute sense of humor and compassionate spirit. She is part turkey-bird, part little girl. She is the funny bone of our family. We love our Lucy!

February-March 2010 - Completed social worker visits and waited for homestudy to be finalized

April 20, 2010 -Dossier back from state certification

April 29, 2010 - Dosser approved and placed on waitlist

April 12, 2011 - REFERRAL!

August 18, 2011 - Court date

September 8, 2011 - First decree

October 11, 2011 - Final decree

November 15, 2011 - Meet Lucy day!

November 22, 2011 - AIT appoinment

November 24, 2011 - HOME! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
