Green stamp girl!

Our grocer has been giving away green stamps. We decided not to collect them, but Amelia decided SHE would collect them if we would not. She has been very diligent about saving them up, posting them to her book, and keeping track of her earnings. She finally earned enough stamps to redeem them for the prize she set her eyes on -- the electric grill. With Amelia's blessing, we have used the grill every night this week. She is so proud. Actually, I am proud of her, too. I know it's just a green stamp book, but it is also something more -- she set a goal, took steps to achieve it, was diligent and steadfast in her efforts, and was rewarded in the end. It's a good life lesson. Plus, the hamburgers were yummy.
