To "fix" the hair, I took Amelia to a pricey salon. She picked out a cute photo of how she wanted her hair. We got nowhere close to the photo and learned, in the process, that Amelia's scissor skills aren't too far from those of a licensed cosmotologist. Oh well. It's only hair. It will grow. In the meantime, the only adjectives I am using around Amelia are "very grownup!" "so fashionable" and "beautiful" - - Amelia feeling good about herself is more important than teaching asthestics, at least at this point in development. However, her little friend Karson did tell her "you really DO look like a Chinese girl with that hair!" Even Karson recognized the orphanage/refugee look.

BTW....Very cute on you Amelia. You are growing so fast.
ReplyDeleteClaire has that same haircut and she says she looks like "Chinese Dora"/ Gun Hay Fat Choy to you both. We must celebrate next yr hopefully with a new one in your family.
ReplyDeleteLet us know when you have time for a playdate...Claire would love to have another 5 yr old friend.
LOL! Why on earth do little girls think they must cut their hair at this age. Wendy did it too last year. It has grown back now and she wants to have it cut this summer shorter cause she gets to many tangles.
ReplyDeleteAmelia sure is growing and is so Cute!
Amelia- Beautiful with any amount of hair...just like your Mama!
